Saul's Conversion

1 Samuel 10:9 (NKJV) "So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day."

A surprising thought from my reading:

"Israel was given just such a king as they had set their heart on. The Spirit of God came upon Saul, their chosen king, and he was a converted man. Samuel said to him, “Let it be that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.” 1 Samuel 10:7. And it is plainly stated, “When he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart.” Verse 9. Here we see what God is ready to do for every one of His workers. Had Saul obeyed the Lord in all things he would have been a blessing to Israel if they had hearkened unto him. But should the king throw off his allegiance to God, then woe be unto Israel! He would prove a [curse] instead of a blessing. {Ms40-1890.}

The idea that God gave Saul "another heart" which is defined as making him at least temporarily converted, is something I never knew before. This is supernatural qualification given by God to enable Saul to be His man doing His work, His way! Sadly Saul did not live up to the qualifying work that God was wanting to do in and through him.

Notice as well "Here we see what God is ready to do for every one of His workers." Amen and praise the Lord! That means that God will grant the supernatural qualification needed for what we have been called to.

I want to be one of those people who experience "another" godly heart daily! I hope you do too!
