This series of 12 booklets on raising children was published by the Educational Department of the church in, and used by churches and home school associations to study parenting. Much of it is excellent and provides much helpful instruction. Speaking of the success of the program, in 1928 there were 3,000 mothers and hundreds of fathers studying the booklets together. This was published many years ago, with norms that were far different from today. Though the norms are different, the principle deliniated within are still very helpful. Read with discretion. We don't agree with every word written, but you should have the opportunity to read for yourself.
Ellen White strongly advocated a gentle approach, warning that agressive discipline usually brings even worse behavior; whereas a gentle approach brings better results. Compare what you read here to what you find in the booklet on Ellen White's approach to discipline. Today they would not accept everything that was advocated back then. In posting this we are not advocating every word either. But there is lots that is very helpful!
Some of the information given relative to health is dated. However the principles for teaching habits of health are not dated and are helpful.
