The True Missionary (journal)
"During 1874 a monthly journal, The True Missionary, was published. After one year of publication, it was merged with the Review and Herald. It contained reports and letters from individuals, gave helpful instruction to the societies and related experiences illustrating various methods of approach and the results attended. The paper announced that the Vigilant Missionary Society's chief objective was the promoting of pure religion, through visiting and praying with families, distributing and mailing tracts and papers, and missionary correspondence. In its pages, Haskell wrote of the good to be accomplished by placing our health and religious journals, and best bound books, in college reading rooms and public libraries throughout the country, which would raise the standard of truth in every town and city. Other duties were also listed, such as writing to absent members, caring for the worthy poor and finding homes for orphan children."—S. N. Haskell, Man of Action

George Müller
Müller founded an orphanage in Bristol England that eventually could house up to 2,000 children. Müller chose to never ask anyone for money, choosing to only seek it from God. Below is a short quotation from the letter. In the link below you can find the entire letter. You can find much more on George Muller at this link.
"Now in your case, with all the many millions of idolaters around you, the temptation is, to be overpowered by the immense quantity of work to be done, to the not minding sufficiently your own souls. But this would only lead to loss. No amount of work can make up for the neglect of meditation in the Holy Scriptures and for the neglect of prayer."
