3 Cups Old Fashion Oats
1 Cup Corn Meal (Organic)
3 Cups Water
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
Blend all ingredients in a blender, starting with water. We personally use a blendtec. It helps to allow the batter sit for a time, perhaps ten minutes prior to making the waffles. Makes about 3 1/2 very large Belgium Waffles.
We use the highly rated, but inexpensive, Presto Flipside Waffle Maker. It makes wonderful waffles. Using a normal flat waffle maker, the waffles are thinner that what are pictured.
These waffles were developed as a result of a friend visiting who require gluten-free ingredients. Rose decided to omit flour and added an additional cup of water, and was pleased to discover that the converted recipe made a great waffle.
